The Wall Street Journal Has An Interesting Story About Trump

(1/4) > >>

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Staff is all in for Donald Trump. Bret Stephens, who was never a friend to Obama either, was the one person, as a foreign affairs columnist, who didn't care for him one bit. He departed for the New York Times. The news staff, however, is interested in scoops as well as the solid reporting for which the Journal is famous, especially on business matters. Lately, the Journal has been competing with the Washington Post and the New York Times for the latest blockbuster on everything Trump. There have been so many, but the Journal is still lagging behind. The latest will make up for that. While I don't subscribe, the library generously does. So several times a week you or I can pop off down the street and give a look. I plan to do that later today.

Porn star was paid $130,000 to keep quiet about a relationship with Trump, Wall Street Journal reports

I'm certainly not assuming it's true, since Trump and his lawyer have denied everything. They are, as we all know, such honest, truthful people. We have to wonder if the Wall Street Journal just wants in on all the lawsuits Trump is going to file...soon.

--- Quote ---An adult-film star was paid $130,000 by a lawyer for Donald Trump in the weeks before the 2016 election to not talk publicly about a sexual relationship with the then-Republican candidate, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The lawyer, Michael Cohen, allegedly paid Stephanie Clifford to remain silent about an encounter at Lake Tahoe in 2006, a year after Trump married his third wife, Melania, according to the Journal. The Journal said the payment was made to a client-trust account at City National Bank in Los Angeles.

The Washington Post was not able to independently confirm the payment and was not able to reach the bank.

“These rumors have circulated time and again since 2011. President Trump once again vehemently denies any such occurrence, as has Ms. Daniels,” Cohen said to The Post. Cohen also issued a statement that he said was from Clifford, whose professional name is Stormy Daniels.

...Cohen has called himself Trump’s “fix-it man” and has become part of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election for his emails to Russian officials about a business project there, including a note to Vladimir Putin’s spokesman.

Clifford could not be reached for comment. Her partner, Glendon Crain, did not respond to messages. Keith Davidson, a lawyer that the Journal said was representing Clifford, did not respond to emails and phone calls seeking comment.

...In the days before the 2016 election, the Journal reported that Clifford was in talks with ABC’s “Good Morning America” to air her story about Trump. That report came days after The Washington Post released a video from a 2005 “Access Hollywood” recording in which Trump said he could grab women by the genitals because he was famous.

The Journal also reported in 2016 that the National Enquirer — a publication owned by a close friend of Trump — paid Playboy model Karen McDougal $150,000 for her story about an affair with Trump but never published it.

I don't believe it. That would be sabotaging your entire political and business career. But we all have to remember Bill Clinton lying to the entire world on national TV. The Clintons are so honest.

Blue Fish:
This kind of stuff sells papers. I think the public has clearly spoken on this issue - they enjoy the gossip, but it doesn't change the base of support.

If it is true, it's not the sex with prostitutes that is the issue since that kind of behavior is his trademark. It's the fact that he was ripped off for $130,000. The great negotiator was taken like a chump. He of course would consider it a good investment because he became president, not that such a revelation would put a dent in the decision-making of the brain-dead chumps who voted for him.

More confirming statements about Trump's misdeeds.

--- Quote ---According to the Journal, the payment was made “as part of an agreement that precluded her from publicly discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump.” Daniels (given name: Stephanie Clifford) had reportedly been in talks with both ABC’s Good Morning America about going public with the allegations.

The Daily Beast had also been in protracted talks with Daniels about arranging an interview after three sources—including fellow porn star Alana Evans—told The Daily Beast that Daniels and Trump were involved. She ultimately backed out on Nov. 3, just five days before the 2016 election.

...on Nov. 4, 2016, the Journal unearthed documents revealing that the Trump-friendly rag National Enquirer had shelled out $150,000 to Playboy centerfold Karen McDougal for a tell-all about her alleged 10-month affair with The Donald from 2006 to 2007. They never ran the piece.

...The Daniels-Trump relationship was also confirmed by an additional source that works closely with Daniels, who spoke to The Daily Beast on condition of anonymity, as well as by a third source in the adult industry.
