You be the judge
« on: May 18, 2017, 06:50:05 PM »
Ok, friends and neighbors, from Round Rock Texas, the Austin American-Statesman is reporting 37 year-old Brandon Vezmar has filed a claim against a 35 year-old woman for $17.31. Vezmar says he met the woman online, and invited her to a movie date. She agreed and they went to see “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” on May 6th. Vezmar says he paid for both tickets, but instead of enjoying a movie with his date, his date spent the entire time texting. He even suggested she step outside to text. She agreed, left the theater, and didn’t come back. She admits Vezmar asked her for the money he paid for her ticket, but she refused because… well… it was a date. Now it’s up to the courts. If you're the judge, what's your decision?

A) Vezmar gets his money back.
B) It was a date, she's entitled to be a jerk. No refund.
C) Doesn't meet the minimum threshold of court worthiness and dismissed for lack of real damages.
D)?????
It's a happy enchilada... (John Prine)

Yeah, certainly within his right to ask her for the money back, but that's it. There's no law that requires her to behave properly.

There's something else going on here. You don't have your first bad date at 37

B, C, and D. Guess what....this has happened to all of us guys at one point or another. I remember a girl who wanted me to drive all the way up to Roanoke to meet her after work. I had not planned on having the make the drive, and it was right after work, so I had to drive through a bit heavier traffic. I forget where we met at, but we met at a restaurant. I offered to buy her dinner, but she didn't want anything. When I was trying to talk to her, she kept looking over my shoulder at someone else, not really paying attention to me. After about a half an hour, she thanked me for meeting her and she had to get to another appointment with friends and left.

You know, it just happens. While I didn't have to buy her dinner, I did have to drive an hour to see her, and then she acted completely uninterested the whole time we were there. You just chalk it up as a band experience and move on.

Glad I don't have to go through that stuff anymore.
No matter how much we may disagree, doesn't mean I don't respect your opinion nor your freedom to speak it. Doesn't mean I don't have to agree with it either.

Oh, and HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!
