Gallup Poll: Trump's Presidency At Risk
« on: March 20, 2017, 07:52:25 PM »
Trump is the most unpopular president at this stage in his administration since Gallup began polling in 1945. As of Saturday, March 18, 58% DISAPPROVE of the job he is doing and 37% APPROVE. Obama's lowest rating ever was 39% approval and that was pretty low.

Wednesday's 3/22/17 Quinnipiac Poll tends to confirm the Gallup from 3/18/17. Trump's lies are catching up with him slowly but surely. It is difficult for people to admit a mistake, but most Americans are neither stupid nor ignorant. Eventually facts matter, truth matters, character matters.

Rasmussen is a Republican-leaning agency that has consistently shown Trump with higher ratings than other mainstream polls. Gallup's poll has him at an all time low 36% approval rating today, however, Rasmussen has changed significantly since super posted his ratings a while ago. I thought it was worth a look.

Quote
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-five percent (55%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 27% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 44% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -17.

If Trump is this far underwater with a Republican-leaning poll, it is a sign that he is losing his base.

Trump voters are mostly sticking with him even as he stabs them in the back. Still, they aren't stupid, and, as the betrayals stack up, they are beginning to turn against him as shown in a 10 point drop for Trump among his own voters over three weeks in new @prioritiesUSA poll. Even the poll shows only 3% have turned against him, the other 7% are "not sure," meaning their support is eroding but not completely against him yet. Drip, drip, drip.

Nick Kristof finds concern among his supporters for what they will lose if his budget is adopted, but sticking with him unless he fails to bring the jobs he promised.
Quote
Judy Banks, a 70-year-old struggling to get by, said she voted for Trump because “he was talking about getting rid of those illegals.” But Banks now finds herself shocked that he also has his sights on funds for the Labor Department’s Senior Community Service Employment Program, which is her lifeline. It pays senior citizens a minimum wage to hold public service jobs.

“This program makes sense,” said Banks, who was placed by the program into a job as a receptionist for a senior nutrition program. Banks said she depends on the job to make ends meet, and for an excuse to get out of the house.

“If I lose this job,” she said, “I’ll sit home and die.”

Yet she said she might still vote for Trump in 2020. And that’s a refrain I heard over and over. Some of the loyalty seemed to be grounded in resentment at Democrats for mocking Trump voters as dumb bigots, some from a belief that budgets are complicated, and some from a sense that it’s too early to abandon their man. They did say that if jobs didn’t reappear, they would turn against him.

Trump and Republicans are on the wrong side of history as well as a significant majority of Americans. A new Quinnipiac poll finds that 76 percent of Americans are concerned about climate change, and building a wall on the Mexican border is opposed by 64-33.

The latest Pew presidential poll shows Trump still in a slump. He lags every recent president by huge margins at this point in his term. (Poll posted April 17, 2017)

May 10
Trump hits a new low at 36% approval rating. It's 29% with independents. His disapproval is at 58% overall and 63% with independents.

Quote
The president is losing support among independent voters and groups which are important parts of his base. Approval ratings are:
Negative 29 - 63 percent among independent voters, down from a negative 38 - 56 percent April 19;
A split among white voters with no college degree, as 47 percent approve and 46 percent disapprove, compared to a 57 - 38 percent approval April 19;
White men go from a 53 - 41 percent approval April 19 to a split today with 48 percent approving and 46 percent disapproving.

American voters' opinions of several of Trump's personal qualities are down:
61 - 33 percent that he is not honest, compared to 58 - 37 percent April 19;
56 - 41 percent that he does not have good leadership skills, little change;
59 - 38 percent that he does not care about average Americans, compared to 57 - 42 percent April 19;
66 - 29 percent that he is not level-headed, compared to 63 - 33 percent last month;
62 - 35 percent that he is a strong person, little change;
56 - 41 percent that he is intelligent, compared to 58 - 38 percent;
64 - 32 percent that he does not share their values, compared to 61 - 35 percent.
"There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Trump has hit a new low in today's (August 2, 2017) Quinnipiac poll. His approval rating is down to 33%, the lowest yet.

Quote
President Donald Trump plunges to a new low as American voters disapprove 61 - 33 percent of the job he is doing, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. White men are divided 47 - 48 percent and Republicans approve 76 - 17 percent. White voters with no college degree, a key part of the president's base, disapprove 50 - 43 percent.

Today's approval rating is down from a 55 - 40 percent disapproval in a June 29 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University. This is President Trump's lowest approval and highest disapproval number since he was inaugurated.

American voters say 54 - 26 percent that they are embarrassed rather than proud to have Trump as president. Voters say 57 - 40 percent he is abusing the powers of his office and say 60 - 36 percent that he believes he is above the law.

President Trump is not levelheaded, say 71 - 26 percent of voters, his worst score on that character trait. Voter opinions of most other Trump qualities drop to new lows:
62 - 34 percent that he is not honest;
63 - 34 percent that he does not have good leadership skills;
59 - 39 percent that he does not care about average Americans;
58 - 39 percent that he is a strong person;
55 - 42 percent that he is intelligent;
63 - 34 percent that he does not share their values.

What are the odds it will be at least 2% lower by Labor Day?

The latest Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows Trump with the worst rating yet. Sixty-seven percent disapprove and 32% approve of his performance. On the other hand, you have Rasmussen claiming that he enjoys a 46% approval rating as of Friday. I have only one question: Have 46% of the American people completely lost their minds? I think not, especially given Rasmussen's right wing bias. That's why I regard the AP is a tad more reliable.  It also tracks his slide from 42 percent in March and 35 percent in June. Surely his antics have had some effect on even the lowest of low information voters. Probably the most significant point is that Republicans are not as enamored of Trump as they once were as shown in the findings below. Hmmm...where did they find the 5% of Democrats who think Trump is strong, honest, and level headed? Surely they misunderstood the questions.

FOX Poll: Trump's Presidency At Risk
« Reply #11 on: October 26, 2017, 03:40:34 AM »
Trump has been interviewed on FOX noise 18 times. No president has ever favored one network so much. I wonder why? Hmmmm....

HOWEVER, that special relationship clearly doesn't transfer to polling results.

Axios reports: A new Fox News poll finds that President Trump's approval rating is falling in groups of voters that overwhelmingly supported him in the 2016 election.

Among white evangelical Christians surveyed, 66% say they support Trump, down from 74% a month ago.

The president's approval also dropped from 68% to 56% among white men without college degrees over the past month.

One more thing: Fox's poll reports that 51% of Americans disapprove of how Trump is handling tax reform.

The poll also shows:  Thirty-eight percent of voters approve of the job Trump is doing, down from 42 percent last month.  At the same time, disapproval is up 4 points to a high of 57 percent.  That includes 49 percent who ďstronglyĒ disapprove.

I've never put much faith in polls of any kind. But remember when Obama refused to go on Fox News? He chose to appear
only on stations that supported him. Trump is doing the same.

Trump's approval rating hit a new low today, Oct. 30, in the latest Gallup poll. Only 33% approve of his presidency while a new high of 62% disapprove. These falling approval indicators suggest that attacking Clinton has no up side. A housewife in Cappaqua, NY is no threat to anyone. Trump has been thrashing about for some enemy to conjurer up for his base to hate, but he keeps punching down (re: a Gold Star mom) and that doesn't sit well with people who identify with the underdogs.

Quote
On Sunday evening, a poll from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal indicated that Trumpís approval rating had hit a new low, sinking to 38 percent. More worrisome for the president? Since September, the drop was biggest among independents, whites and whites without a college degree ó key components of the coalition that won Trump the White House. NBC and the Journal also reported that the 38 percent rating was lower than any other president had seen at a similar point in their first terms in the modern era.

On Monday, new data from Gallup reiterated that same message. In Gallupís daily tracking poll, which looks at three days of national polling, Trumpís approval rating hit a new low of 33 percent and his disapproval a new high of 62 percent. The net approval ó those who approve minus those who disapprove ó hit a new low at minus-29.
